Fresh Ways to Enhance Food Stations:

One element of events that is often an afterthought is the look of the food stations. These areas don’t need to only serve as a place for food; they can also be enhanced to tie into the event theme. Décor can be added to the existing stations to make them more appealing or you can get unique with the elements that are used as food stations. Below are a few ways to liven up this existing event element:

  • Use bookshelves to serve plated hors d’oeuvres or desserts
  • Add centerpieces to the stations that tie into the centerpieces on guest’s tables
  • Get creative with food plating – use non-traditional serving platters such as serving the hors d’oeuvre directly on the spoon used to eat the item
  • Make the station interactive – allow guests to mix their own sauce or invent creative ways they can decorate their own desserts
  • Instead of a traditional table, use a décor prop like a wagon or cart to serve food items
  • For rustic events create a display of wooden crates that serves as a station for food
  • Use a prop wall to serve donuts, pretzels, or cake pops

No matter the event theme there are always creative ways to tie your food stations into the overall event!
